There are three different engines to choose from for Escape shoppers. The base S trim comes with a 168-horsepower, 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder (I-4) engine. SE and SEL models come with a 179-horsepower, 1.5-liter I-4 engine. While this offers a bit more potency, some drivers might still feel the need for something more powerful. Luckily, the top-of-the-line Titanium trim comes with a 245-horsepower, 2.0-liter I-4 engine. This motor is the most powerful option available. All trims can be paired with either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Depending on your engine, drivetrain, and individual driving habits, the 2019 Ford Escape averages up to 29 highway mpg, 21 city mpg, and 25 combined mpg. When properly equipped, the 2019 Ford Escape can tow up to 2,000 lbs. as the Titanium trim puts out 275 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm.Ā Ā
