Available Engines and Capability

The 2020 Chevy Blazer comes with three engine options: 2.0 liter Turbo four-cylinder engine, 3.6L V6 engine, and ECOTEC® 2.5L four-cylinder engine. The 2.0L Turbo engine delivers up to 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The 3.6L V6 engine achieves up to 308 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The 2.5L ECOTEC® engine delivers 193 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque.

Paired with the 2.0L Turbo and 3.6L V6 engines is a nine-speed automatic electronically-controlled transmission. A nine-speed automatic electronically-controlled transmission with overdrive is paired with the 2.5L ECOTEC® engine.

The 2.5L Turbo engine gets 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Fuel economy for the 2.5L ECOTEC® engine is 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The 3.6L V6 engine gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Traction Select System

While the power of the engines is impressive, you can improve the Chevy Blazer’s performance for certain road and driving conditions. This is possible through the Traction Select System. This provides you with five driver modes: Tour, Sport, All-Wheel Drive, Tow/Haul and Off-Road. Tour mode switches to front-wheel drive for improved fuel-efficiency and drive quality. Sport mode provides a sporty performance for dry roads. All-Wheel Drive mode improves traction on slippery road conditions. Tow/Haul mode helps improve driving when towing a trailer or hauling a load. Off-Road mode enhances throttle and chassis control systems to improve traction on rough terrain.
