What’s New in the 2018 GMC Terrain?

Introduced in January, the upcoming 2018 GMC Terrain is bringing a lot of changes to the popular compact SUV model. The GMC Terrain makes up 25 percent of GMC’s overall sales. This year, GMC focused on upgrading the design, performance and safety features on the Terrain. So what’s new in the 2018 GMC Terrain?

Release Date of the 2018 GMC Terrain

The 2018 GMC Terrain will be going on sale this summer, and will be available in the following trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT and Denali. The 2018 Terrain has gone through a design overhaul, bringing a much more bold and modern look to the compact SUV. The new Terrain Denali trim level will feature a chrome grille, exclusive body color accents,  chrome roof rails, door handles, side mirror caps and body-side molding. All of the 2018 GMC Terrain models will features LED daytime running lights, with bi-functional HID headlamps coming standard on the SL, SLE and SLT trim levels. 17-inch wheels are standard on the SL and SLE models, with 18-inch wheels available for those trim levels. The 18-inch wheels are come standard on the SLT.

The engine options available in the 2018 GMC Terrain include 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engines, as well as a new 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine. The 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engines are paired with 9-speed automatic transmissions.

The new radar and camera-based safety technologies in the 2018 GMC Terrain include: New Surround Vision, New Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator, New Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking, New Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and New Safety Alert Seat.
