eAssist Light Electrification System

With the addition of the eAssist light Electrification system the 2018 Buick LaCrosse gets 19% better fuel economy while city driving.  The eAssist system also helps deliver more torque than the 2017 V6 engine.  Stack of 20 dollar billsThis additional torque is used to deliver a smooth and powerful launch from a stop position delivering a responsiveness and refined performance that you wouldn’t expect from a full-size sedan.  Regenerative braking provides energy to the 2018 Buick LaCrosse by capturing the energy created while braking and diverting it into the lithium ion battery pack via the Motor Generator Unit (MGU).  The MGU replaces the traditional alternator and acts as a generator as well that stores and delivers power from the battery pack, this optimizes the dual efficiency of the eAssist system and the 2.4L gas engine.  Optimizing efficiency is the whole reason Buick implemented the eAssist system and with the addition of start/stop technology the 2018 Buick LaCrosse exemplifies efficiency.  The eAssist system works in conjunction with smart start/stop technology that cuts the gas engine while idling and seamlessly restarts it when your foot is lifted off the brake pedal.  And with the eAssist system adding plenty of torque off the line you never lose any performance but gain unparalleled fuel economy.  The 2018 Buick LaCrosse is expected to be available this fall, so mark your calendar.  If you can’t wait until fall you can find a great deal on the 2017 Buick LaCrosse at EVS Auto Group today.
