Fans of the 2017 Ford Fusion will recognize the new 2018 model as it is carrying over unchanged from the previous year. We don’t think anyone will mind though, as the available amenities, engine options, and design still keep it at the head of the midsize sedan pack. 2018 Ford Fusion Efficiency and Performance 

The 2018 Fusion has been produced using turbocharged engines, direct injection, and twin independent variable cam timing to optimize performance without sacrificing on efficiency. Drivers will appreciate the sedans ability to pick up and go while also skipping a few stops at the pump. 

Fuel Economy 

Like the previous model year, the 2018 Ford Fusion has an EPA estimated 21 mpg* in city driving and an estimated 32 mpg* on the highway. The estimated mpg may be a little lower on performance focused trims like the 2018 Ford Fusion Sport. Fuel-conscious car shoppers may also be interested in the 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid options which deliver increase fuel-sipping performance.

Engine Options 

The base 2018 Fusion S comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 175 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Drivers looking for more power should consider the 2018 Fusion Titanium that comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 240 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The third engine option is found on the 2018 Fusion V6 Sport that comes standard with a turbocharged V6 pumping out an impressive 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque and equipped with a standard all-wheel drive system.
