2020 Ford GT Upgrades and Changes

The Ford GT is an automotive icon, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved upon. After all, making improvements from year to year is why the GT remains one of the most exhilarating cars you can buy still today. For 2020, it sees a number of upgrades and changes that make this even more true.

Ford GT Engine Spec Upgrades

One example of this is the improved power for the 2020 model year. The GT is equipped with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6. For the new model year, it will pump out an extra 13 horsepower, for a grand total of 660 horsepower.

The power plant also sees enhancements made to the engine cooling via new buttress air ducts that increase air flow by 50 percent. Air temperatures are kept cooler thanks to larger intercoolers. This means the GT can maintain top performance power for longer.

Akrapovič Titanium Exhaust

If you aren’t familiar with Akrapovič, the company is Slovenian and makes some of the finest exhaust systems in the world. Their work is featured on the 2020 GT with its titanium exhaust.

The exhaust comes standard and sheds 9 pounds off the GT’s weight. In addition, it has an unmistakable sound to it that can be instantly recognized. This light-weight quality is improved with the newly available Liquid Carbon. Without an added paint color, it enhances the carbon fiber qualities of the GT, all of which saves on weight.

Thanks in part to these enhancements, the 2020 Ford GT remains one of the most thrilling options for car enthusiasts available on the market today. To learn more about your favorite Ford models, be sure to check back to the Eric Von Schledorn blog
