It’s a problem that many of us face after a trip to a pumpkin patch, and your friends here at EVS Auto Group have looked into some clever solutions. Here are four fun uses for pumpkins that you might not have considered.

Four Fun Uses for Leftover Pumpkins

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Sure, you can simply buy the roasted pumpkin seeds you find at the gas station, but what’s the fun in that? Instead, you can make your own, and it’s so easy to do. All you need to do is to take the seed out of the pumpkin, and separate them from the pulp. Once they’ve dried, grease a cookie sheet, and brush some oil on the pumpkin seeds as well. Then, cook the seeds for about 45 minutes at 300 degrees, until they turn golden brown. Depending on how you’d like them flavored, you can put brown sugar on them to make them sweet, or put seasoned salt on them to make them a little zesty.

Feed Your Animal Friends

As much as you probably like pumpkins, you’ll probably be unsurprised to know that animals like them more. You’ve maybe seen chunks missing from your jack-o-lanterns when you return home; that’s the animals’ handiwork. So, if you’d like to offer some delicious pumpkin to the wildlife in your area, cut the gourd into chunks, and leave them in wooded areas where animals likely pass the time. Also, if you’ve got extra pumpkin seeds, you can give them to the birds if you’re not going to eat them all yourself.
Read More: Finding the Best Pumpkin Patches near Milwaukee, WI

Make Pumpkin Serving Bowls

This is probably our favorite of the bunch, for reasons that will become immediately obvious. All you need to do is take a smaller pumpkin, cut it in half, and scoop out all of the pumpkin flesh so that only the rind is left. Next, brush oil on all of the surfaces, and place it in the oven for 30 minutes, rind-down, for 30 minutes. Let them cool, and you can keep soup, beverages or punch in them.
Read More: The Best Oktoberfest Celebrations in Wisconsin

Try Out Pumpkin Facials

Pumpkins are high in zinc, as well as many nourishing vitamins. For this reason, it makes for a terrific complexion treatment. Simply puree a half-cup of pumpkin flesh, and then add a little mix and some brown sugar. This mixture will act as an antioxidant and an exfoliant, and is great for your skin.
