The first engine is the 1.5-liter EcoBoost\u00ae\nengine with Auto Start-Stop Technology. This engine delivers up to 179\nhorsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. The second engine option is the 2.0L EcoBoost\u00ae\nengine with Auto Start-Stop Technology. This engine achieves up to 237 horsepower\nand 270 lb-ft of torque. Both EcoBoost\u00ae engines are paired with an\neight-speed automatic transmission. The third engine option is the 2.5L IVCT\nAtkinson-Cycle I-4 engine. This engine is available for the hybrid and plug-in\nhybrid models. This engine delivers up to 200 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the engines, there are available features to\nhelp enhance the performance of the 2020 Ford Escape. The Selectable Drive\nModes help to improve driving experience and handling for different road\nconditions. There are five modes: Eco, Sport, Normal, Slippery and Deep\nSnow\/Sand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eco mode helps deliver maximum fuel efficiency and improves\nthe driving range. Sport mode increases throttle response, provides sportier steering\nand quicker shifting, and the suspension stiffens. Normal mode is best for\neveryday driving with a balance of excitement, comfort and convenience. Slippery\nmode is best for roads covered in ice, water, grass, or a thin layer of gravel\nor sand.
