The Chevy brand has one of the most recognizable and unique logos in the world. It\u2019s easy to recognize and those who see it instantly know it\u2019s Chevy. But, what is the Chevy logo supposed to actually look like? <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Well, it\u2019s referred to as the \u201cbowtie\u201d logo due to its resemblance to a bowtie. This look goes all the way back to 1913, and it\u2019s unclear if a bowtie truly influenced the logo\u2019s design. Some stories suggest the Chevy founder, William C. Durant, was inspired by wallpaper in a hotel room, while another story from Durant\u2019s daughter explains that the idea came to Durant while sketching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either way, the Chevy logo may not look much like a bowtie to some, and as it turns out, probably wasn\u2019t inspired by a bowtie either.
