That translates to about once a year. The\nonly way to know for sure is to check you transmission fluid levels regularly\nor schedule\na time<\/a> for a Ford-certified technician do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Check F-150 Transmission Fluid<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Checking your transmission fluid is easy; finding the\ndipstick is the hard part. Most F-150 models transmission dipsticks will have \u201cATS\u201d\nstamped on them. Once you\u2019ve found the dipstick, remove it, wipe it off with a\npaper towel or rag, reinsert it, and then remove it again without wiping it\noff. The transmission fluid should go up to the \u201cFull\u201d or \u201cMax\u201d mark on the\ndipstick. If it doesn\u2019t, you may need to add a little bit. If the fluid isn\u2019t clear\nor pink in color or smells burnt, you need to change your transmission fluid\nright away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
