What engine does the 2020 Chevy Malibu have?

When shopping for a 2020 Malibu, drivers will be able to choose from two different engine options. The L, LS, RS, LT trim levels all come fitted with a 160-horsepower, 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine. The top-of-the-line Premier model comes with a much more potent 2.0-liter I-4 engine powered by 250 horses. The base engine is paired with a two-speed continuously variable transmission while the Premier comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Unsurprisingly, the former offers a more efficient fuel economy. The bottom four trim levels all average up to 36 highway mpg, 29 city mpg, and 32 combined mpg. The Premier averages up to 32 highway mpg, 22 city mpg, and 26 combined mpg. The Malibu is one of the best-looking compact sedans available, and now you know that it performs well and is also remarkably efficient.
