Ford offers two capable engine choices for the 2026 Transit® Van lineup. The standard 3.5-liter V6 engine uses a port-fuel/direct-injection system producing 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This setup supports balanced performance for everyday driving and commercial tasks.  

Drivers wanting additional capability may prefer the available 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine. It produces 300 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque for stronger acceleration and hauling confidence. Furthermore, both engines pair with an advanced 10-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting and responsive performance.  

Available intelligent all-wheel drive also supports driving confidence. This system helps maximize traction during changing road and weather conditions. Unlike some systems, it integrates into the van without raising the load floor or seat height. Consequently, drivers maintain cargo flexibility and interior comfort.

Heavy-duty towing capability remains another important advantage. When equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, the 2026 Transit® Van can tow up to 4,500 pounds. The package includes a frame-mounted hitch receiver, connector assembly, and trailer wiring provisions.  

Payload capability also makes the Transit® Van practical for businesses and large families. Cargo vans offer up to 5,103 pounds of maximum payload capacity. Passenger van configurations support up to 3,401 pounds of payload capability.  

When discussing performance, fuel range matters as well. The available 31-gallon fuel tank allows longer travel between refueling stops. Therefore, drivers may spend more time on the road and less time stopping for fuel.
