That’s because Halloween is coming soon to the Milwaukee, and the haunted houses are popping up to prove it. So, before you plan your Halloween parties for 2016, here are the best haunted houses in our area.

Abandoned Haunted House Complex | Mount Pleasant, WI

This complex, located just off of Interstate 94 between Racine and Kenosha, can be found just south of Milwaukee, and it’s virtually impossible to miss. It houses four different haunted attractions at its single location, including the Statesville Haunted Prison and the City of the Dead. It recently was named the Best Haunted House and Best Overall Halloween Event by the Chicago Halloween Guide.

Wisconsin Fear Grounds | Waukesha

Named the #1 Haunted House in America by Haunted Attraction Magazine and others, this attraction features three haunted houses all in one spot. The popular Morgan Manor returns for its 13th year, while this is the first year of the “Night Terrors: 13 Hours of Fear” attraction, which is the only haunted slumber party in the state of Wisconsin. (Dealer note: This sounds totally terrifying.)

Spooky Stalks Haunted Cornfield | Milwaukee

What is it about a cornfield (or children in said cornfield) that gives us the willies? Located on the north side of Milwaukee only a short drive from Menomonee Falls, Spooky Stalks has been scaring Wisconsinites for almost two decades. And, since it’s the only haunted cornfield in Milwaukee, it certainly isn’t to be missed.

The Hill Has Eyes | Franklin

This isn’t your typical haunted house. Named the best haunt in southeast Wisconsin by the scaredy cats at the Journal Sentinal, this attraction features four separate haunted trails, each one scarier than the one before it. It also features the terrifying Scare Lift, which takes you to the top of the hill for the final CarniVore haunt. Trust us; this one is awesome.
