Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Show | Pewaukee Lake | Monday, Sept. 5

Long known as the greatest show on water, the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Show celebrates the end of the 2016 on the Monday of Labor Day, right downtown in Pewaukee on Lakefront Park. In terms of family-friendliness, there’s really nothing better, since seeing your kids light up at the sight of a human pyramid will be something you’ll cherish forever. Or cherish at least until you hear, “Mom, Dad, can I try that?”

One of the great traditions in southeast Wisconsin is Cedarburg’s Maxwell Street Days, which celebrates the end of its 50th summer hosting this event. Over 600 vendors descend on Fireman’s Park, with all sorts of antiques, collectibles, farm items, old toys and much more. Of course, there’s also a great deal of food and fun, and the gates open bright and early at 6am. Get there early.
