The design language of the 2018 Chevy Tahoe RST and Suburban RST borrow heavily from a recent trend in the automotive marketplace where chrome has taken a backseat to the blacks and reds that typify an aftermarket, street-ready look. To that end, these RST special editions eliminate much of the chrome, instead using a body-color grille, black badging and 22-inch machined wheels, along with gloss-black roof rails, mirror caps and grille accents. Meanwhile, both a Borla performance exhaust system and front red Brembo six-piston aluminum brake calipers on Duralife rotors are available as upgrades.

Under the hood of these RST special editions, an exclusive available Performance Package is offered. This features a 6.2L V8 engine rated for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to the all-new 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission. It features Magnetic Ride Control with performance calibration, along with direct injection, active fuel management and continuously variable valve timing.
