Although no one would ever wish to have car trouble, at least we can say this: when your car is starting to have an issue that will require service, your car will generally tell you. There are simple ways to diagnose certain issues, and this is certainly true as it pertains to your transmission. So how can you know when your gearbox is having issues? Here are five signs of transmission trouble, from your friends here at EVS Auto Group.
Five Signs of Transmission Trouble
It’s Noisy During Shifts
As we mentioned, your car will sometimes make troubles known, and there are multiple examples of this. Your brakes will squeal when they’re going out, or you’ll hear hissing and sizzling from a radiator that’s heating up. On the same token, your transmission will make a spinning, clicking or whining sounds as they try to shift, and these sounds let you know that transmission service may be in your future.
It Experiences Rough Shifting
If you’re driving a car with a traditional automatic transmission, then you’ll feel the gears change as they shift up or down. This, of course, is by design. However, if the shifting is accompanied by jerks, grinding gears or jerky movements, you’ll need to give your transmission the attention that it’s asking for.

It Slips During Gear Changes
Sometimes, a driver will hit the gas to speed up, and it will feel as though the engine over-revs as it tries to upshift. This is known as “slipping,” and means that parts and components in the transmission have become worn down over time. Obviously, this means that your transmssion could use a look at one of our locations.
There are Delays During Shifts
Say that you’re getting ready to head to see The Secret Life of Pets, and you’ve got all the kids in the car. They’re so excited, chanting “Popcorn! Popcorn! Popcorn!” over and over again. But when you go to put your car in gear, nothing happens. You’ve tried to shift into reverse, and your car is running, but it just feels like it’s in neutral. It hesitates for several seconds, before finally engaging into gear. This is somewhat similar to slippage, and also needs immediate attention.
There are Transmission Fluid Leaks
As you are certainly aware, a leak is never a good thing. Low transmission fluids are usually evidence of a leak somewhere along the transmission line, and generally indicates that more trouble is on the way. You may also see a small patch of pink fluid (as in the picture shown here) on your driveway, also signalling that there is a leak.
Do any of these common transmission problems sound familiar? If so, we encourage you to visit one of our service departments under the EVS Auto Group family of dealerships!

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea
shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said
“You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
