2021 Escape Gasoline Engine Options
Included standard with the 2021 Ford Escape, the first gasoline engine option offered for this SUV is the 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology. This engine will come paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and will offer drivers 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque.
For added performance, an additional gasoline engine is available for the 2021 Escape. Packing 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, the 2.0L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology and SelectShift® provides drivers with plenty of fun.
2021 Escape Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid Engine Options
Are you searching for an Escape that prioritizes efficiency? The 2021 Escape offers both a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid model. Found with the 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid, the 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 engine features 165 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque when operating solo. When running alongside its 88-kW electric motor, the 2021 Escape Hybrid offers 200 combined horsepower. With the 2021 Ford Esacpe Hybrid, drivers can enjoy up to 44 city MPG and 37 highway MPG.
The 2021 Escape Plug-In Hybrid will feature the same engine as the Escape Hybrid but will require the driver to plug-in their vehicle to charge it, allowing them to maximize their fuel efficiency by minimizing their emissions. Ford has yet to announce the EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for the Escape Plug-In Hybrid, but we expect them to be even more impressive than the Escape Hybrid efficiency ratings.
