Rancho® is a popular worldwide brand that produces iconic suspensions, shocks and more. They’re known for delivering “rugged performance for work and play in any on – or off-road environment.” Rancho® shocks are often included on special trims of vehicles that emphasize off-road prowess. The result is a greater ability to take on the off-road environment in an optimized fashion.

What is the Rancho® RS5000™ Shock Absorber?

The most popular Rancho® product is the RS5000™ shock absorber. This best-seller was originally launched in 1985, and has been the shock of choice for light trucks and SUVs ever since. The RS5000™ is ideal for adventures both on the road and off. It also enjoys an affordable price. This workhorse shock is engineered to fit both stock and raised vehicles, and is covered by Rancho®’s limited lifetime warranty.

Other industry-leading shock absorbers from Rancho that were introduced over the years include the RS9000™XL, Loaded quickLIFT™, Pro Series and more.

When and where did Rancho® start?

Rancho® started in Long Beach, California back in the 1950s under the name Rancho Jeep Supply. Over time, it grew into a successful, thriving manufacturer of off-road and performance suspension components.

In 1990, Rancho® was purchased by Tenneco, Inc. At this time, its offerings expanded to include the world’s first five-way adjustable shock absorber. This creation allowed off-road enthusiasts to adjust the level of compression/rebound damping in the shock in order to best suit their unique riding style. The company also launched the first “Intelligent” shock, known as the RSX shock absorber.
