How Ford Assists Vets with its “Proud to Honor” Initiative

In addition to building great cars, Ford tries to make a positive impact on the world. One way they do this is by lending support and assistance to veterans. What exactly has Ford been up to recently to help veterans?

Ford runs an initiative called “Proud to Honor” that makes a priority of assisting veterans. The program does this through aiming to raise awareness, strengthen existing programs, and create even more meaningful connections with service members.

If you tuned into the County Music Awards™ this year, you may have seen a heartwarming moment that involved musician Luke Combs pulling up to a group veterans in the all-new Ford F-150 and giving them some guitars and a music lesson. This segment was Ford’s way of showcasing their latest Proud to Honor project, wherein the automaker partnered with Luke Combs and Guitars 4 Vets and made a donation to the program.

Guitars 4 Vets helps veterans with PTSD heal through music. In total, the donation from Ford adds up to $25,000 worth of custom guitars, which should help the program expand.

Who is Luke Combs?

Luke Combs has quickly risen in fame as a country star over the last few years. His triple-platinum debut album, This One’s For You, has spent 50 non-consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart, tying the record for longest reign. It was also the most-streamed country album of 2019.

Currently, Combs is on the verge of releasing a new deluxe album on October 23rd, titled What You See Ain’t Always What You Get. It contains all the songs of his What You See Is What You Get album, plus five additional tracks.
