Driver-Assistive Safety Technology for the 2021 Traverse

  • Rear Vision Camera – Displays live footage of the area behind your Traverse while in reverse. Dynamic guidelines are also present to help you with parking.
  • Forward Collision Alert – Alerts you of a potential front-end collision or if you are tailgating another vehicle.
  • Front Pedestrian Braking – When driving less than 50 MPH during the day, Front Pedestrian Braking can apply the brakes if a pedestrian is detected and a collision may or will occur. This function has limited performance at night or when there is low visibility.
  • Automatic Emergency Braking – When driving less than 50 MPH, Automatic Emergency Braking helps avoid front-end collisions by applying the brakes using camera technology.
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning – Alerts you of drifting and provides gentle steering adjustments to keep you in your lane. This system does not activate if your turn signal is on or detects you are intentionally leaving the lane.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert – Can alert you of approaching vehicles or pedestrians while you are in reverse. Very helpful for backing out of garages, driveways, and parking stalls.
  • Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert – Provides visual cues of vehicles in your blind spot or quickly approaching your blind spot and helps you avoid lane change collisions.
  • Rear Park Assist – Provides distance alerts to detected objects, such as walls, behind your Traverse while in reverse at low speeds.
  • Rear Camera Mirror – Uses a camera to give you a clearer view of what’s behind your vehicle.
  • HD Surround Vision – Using multiple cameras, a bird’s eye view of your Traverse will display on your touchscreen while at low speeds. This feature is helpful for parking in tight spaces and to avoid hitting nearby objects or pedestrians.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control – Maintains your set speed and uses cameras to automatically keep a safe distance from vehicles in front, reducing the need to brake or accelerate.
  • Teen Driver Technology – Prevents the driver from shifting from Park for up to 20 seconds if the driver’s seat belt is not fastened, mutes audio until both front-seat passengers are buckled, automatically turns on available safety technologies, and provides an in-vehicle report card to show how your teen was driving.
