What safety features come on the 2020 Ford Explorer?

Ford Co-Pilot360™ comes standard on the 2020 Explorer. This suite of safety features includes innovative and practical perks designed to keep you alert and secure. Driver's cockpit of the 2020 Ford Explorer

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS)

Whenever another vehicle enters either of your blind spots, BLIS will subtly alert you of the potential hazard. Your corresponding sideview mirror will light up and always keep you aware of what’s around you. Remember to still check your blind spots before turning or changing lanes.

Lane-keep assist

If Ford Co-Pilot360™ detects that you are drifting too much, it can activate the lane-keeping system to correct your path. This feature will automatically adjust your steering to ensure that you don’t drift too far into the wrong lane.

Automatic emergency braking

This system uses radar technology to scan the road ahead. If an obstacle is suddenly detected, this system can apply the brakes on its own. Not only can this avoid an accident altogether, it can mitigate the damage of one that is inevitable.

Automatic high-beam headlamps

This feature allows you to see better at night while not blinding other motorists. These innovative headlamps sense the lighting and if they determine that high beams are necessary, your brights will turn on automatically. If you have another vehicle in front of you, your high beams will turn off so they don’t harm the vision of the other driver.
